Securing sport: Qatar-based ICSS puts security at the top of the agenda
Thursday, June 2, 2011 ~ 8:13am
We welcome the executive team of the new Doha-based International Centre for Sports Security to Stadium Business Summit 2011.
Launched earlier this year, the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) is an international not-for-profit organisation based in Doha which aims to help event organisers, governments and international sport institutions to develop safe sporting events. The ICSS fulfils these objectives through research, training and consultancy activities.
“We are delighted to announce the ICSS. The ICSS is a vital step forwards in the development of excellent safety of sporting events," says Mohammed Hanzab, President of ICSS. "As more events are held in developing nations it is imperative that we share learnings and best practices to ensure the safety of all players and spectators.”
We are delighted to welcome a six-strong delegation from ICSS headed by President Mohammed al-Hanzab and Chief Executive Helmut Spahn (formerly the Chief Security Officer for the German Football Association) along with representatives of Monitor Quest, the global specialist in risk consultancy.
